I usually use Qumana to post to my blog but tonight it doesn't want to work - wow Typepad has changed.  I hope this works.

I'm thinking that I would like to delivery the pincushions myself, at least one month, so far we have them going to Australia, the UK, Iceland, Norway, Germany....  wouldn't that be a wonderful trip?

Gift - Rosalie Quinlan Designs

Rosalie Quinlan's beautiful book Gift is now available in the shop.  As many of you will know Rosalie is a breast cancer survivor and together with Creative Abundance will be donating 50c from the sale of this book to Pink Ribbon Day.

Yesterday saw the sad passing of the courageous Jane McGrath.  My heart goes out to her family and friends and to all those who are fighting this terrible disease. 

Please take care of yourselves, make the most of  your gift of life and if you can, support these two worthy causes so that one day no one will have to lose this fight.

More from Marie

I haven't done much sewing recently for various reasons but fortunately Marie has been.  As always her work is beautiful.

This is a purse she made for a friend using this pattern.

Next are more softies but you also need to read the little tale that Marie sent with the photographs.

Here is the new giraffe, I have nicknamed Trouble...the reason for this?

Well I have so far found her swinging on the Chandaliers,

trying to talk other softies into escaping..

when Mrs Owly said NO...

I found her trying to get out the front door,

and then almost got into the sewing room!!

 I have to say though she plays nicely with the other animals in the house in fact Deeno and Giraffee both love her.

The close up lets you see what a little Duckie she really is!

I was having a bit of a sad day the day (my aunt had a stroke the night before)  Marie sent me this and it certainly brought a smile to my face.  Thank you Marie you made my day.

Sewjourn

Do you ever think about running away?  Just for a few days of course!  What about to a place filled with beautiful furniture and quilts, somewhere you can be with friends, stitch, talk, eat - all the good things in life.

Sounds like heaven doesn't it?  When I was in Melbourne at AQC I discovered that  Jan and her family are currently working hard to create the perfect place for such an escape -  Sewjourn.

Since I have returned from Melbourne I have been enjoying watching the progress on Jan's blog.  Sewjourn is looking wonderful and you can see that it is now all coming together to create an environment for relaxing, creating and simply just enjoying.  Not only will there be a four bedroom house but there will be a large, light-filled studio.  I wonder if they will have a Chef???

Initially I was a little disappointed that it was located in Victoria, but Jan tells me that Lancefield is only about an hour from Melbourne.  So once they are open I will have to keep an eye out for a bargain airfare.

Jan has promised to come and tell us more about it closer to the opening and in the meantime I will continue reading Jan's blog and dream about being there.

Marie has joined me in the coin purse addiction. Marie ordered the frames and patterns.  We were emailing at the time that they had arrived - 1.44pm.  So I cheekily asked whether she had made one yet.    This was her reply at 3.22pm and we emailed at bit in between.  Not bad hey?

Looked what arrived yesterday.

Beautiful, and even more so in real life.

We had wild weather here today and my internet was dropping in and out all day, but it is all listed in the shop now.

As for the wild and woolly weather, not much rain, but still a little is better that none and the back lawn is already looking greener.  It has been very windy and while we were eating dinner we heard the crack of a branch breaking.  Not one of ours fortunately, so will see where it was when we venture out to school in the morning.  There are some very large gum trees in our street and I am glad they are not hanging over our house.  At least this one didn't sound like it fell on a house or anything.

Kites

We have enjoyed a lovely Easter weekend, finally beautiful weather, time with family and friends and way too much to eat and drink.  Saturday we went along to the Kite Festival at Semaphore Beach.  Amazing kites.

Yes they are real.  Meet the other residents of our crazy household.  This is Buddy the rabbit and Spice the budgie.  This is not an unusual sight in our household.  Spice thinks Buddy is his friend.  He eats his food, right out of his mouth if he wants, bathes in his water bowl, pecks at Buddy, tells him off as only a budgie can.  Buddy takes it all, only turning his back occasionally.  Now if it was me I would be growled at and maybe even bitten.  Hmm, wonder who is the boss in this household.  None other than the smallest member of the family.

Spoilt

I'm feeling very spoiled today.  After a long wait my Secret Santa present has finally arrived from the lovely Gail of Quite Quilted.  When my gift appeared to have gone missing in the mail, Gail very kindly sent me another gift - a copy of Quilts and More and I had a wonderful time reading that.  It has some wonderful projects.

Yesterday, well after his normal delivery time the Postie rang the door bell and surprise, surprise has my parcel from Gail.

This is just a little of what I received.  I also received another copy of Quilts and More which I forgot to include in the photograph.  Vanessa and Rachel were not forgotten either - they received a little bear with I love Canada on them in the cutest little maple leave bags.  Of course the battery for the camera was flat so by the time it was recharged they had long disappeared to hang on their school bags, where I am sure they were much admired today.

As of that was enough surprises for the day, I'd no sooner shut the door and reached for the scissors to open the parcel and the Postie rang the door bell again - he had another parcel for me well not really for me personally but for Quilt Fabric Delights.
